Today, I’m feeling amazing! I have been working on a custom painting that I’m almost done with. I had a great Valentine’s Day with my partner, Catherine and our anniversary was 2 days later! We have officially been together for 3 years (read more about our story in the 2011 Love Issue of Go Magazine). We spent an amazing weekend together disconnected from phones, computers and other electronics. It was really refreshing! Not feeling the PULL of what did so and so say about my comment from the other day, who posted or emailed what… All that mattered was the present moment.
I had my 3rd ever Reiki session with an amazing woman named Gail. For those who don’t know what Reiki is, Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force (Rei = universal, Ki = life force). Reiki is an ancient healing therapy with a basis in eastern practices and teachings. Reiki is non-invasive and safe for all ages from premature babies to the elderly and is used on animals as well as people.
Reiki consists of a series of gentle, non-intrusive touches through which the practitioner channels healing energy into the recipient at a deep level. Reiki practitioners believe that energy surrounds and moves through the human body. Reiki works to balance the flow of this energy and stimulate the body’s healing abilities.
I was open and this session was incredibly moving. I felt so light like a huge weight had been lifted off of me. This helped me to have an even better weekend and has been continuing to trickle beyond. I can’t believe how much better I’m feeling. Sometimes we can really feel stuck and aren’t sure the best way to get out.
Being aware of the present moment plays a KEY ROLE in dissolving some of the mind patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
Many of you already know how much I love Eckhart Tolle and his teachings. They just make sense to me and it’s not about this religion or that religion. It’s about the role thoughts and emotions play out in your life and what you can do to enjoy the life you have.
I’m starting a Spotify (free desktop service) playlist of teachings and things I’ve found helpful. If you’re not yet ready for The Power of Now, the first 2 items on this new playlist are from a seminar Eckhart Tolle gave in California in 2008. The title of this seminar is called Presence. Part 1 is 50 minutes, Part 2 is 63 minutes. I highly recommend listening to this seminar and would love to know what your thoughts are.
