Blog Description
LosingYourParents.org is a blog created by Lisa A. Snyder, who lost both of her parents to cancer and was present for each of their transitions. Her intention is to connect with those who have lost mothers, fathers, both parents, at any age, from cancer, illness, sudden death, divorce, separation, adoption, growing up not knowing either parent, or being cut off because of sexuality or life decisions.
In her writing, she’s able to take the challenges she faces and turn them into a recipe which can be applied to every day life. In doing so, she knows that finding creative ways to move through tough emotions always leads to a better, healthier, happier, active, more adventurous life for herself. By writing honestly and openly, she hopes her direct experiences will inspire others to who are grieving to move forward in their lives.
LosingYourParents.org has been featured on GoodTherapy.org (“Losing Both Parents by Age 27: How I Began to Heal”), named on Top 10 Grief Websites of 2012 by GoodTherapy.org, featured on Hay House Author Christina Rassmuesen’s “30 Days of Hope” project, was interviewed by Open to Hope’s Dr. Gloria Horsley about Losing Your Parents and following your bliss, is a writer and commissioned artist for TheGriefToolbox.com and her sister site, GriefPost.com, was named one of “6 great resources for the grieving and bereaved”.
